Liner Agency Representation
Aitken Spence represents many leading global shipping lines. These shipping liner agencies work as separate subsidiary companies, under separate management and staff. We have a strong and experienced marketing team who has a thorough knowledge of all the trade lanes to and from Sri Lanka. Our operations staff are also sound and are capable of handling all types of vessels including stowage planning, husbanding and crew matters etc.
Cruise Vessel Representation
The company is well experienced in handling cruise vessels in the ports of Colombo, Galle and Trincomalee. We currently handle over 10 cruise line calls per year and are well versed with all requirements of the Port and other authorities. We offer comprehensive services to cruise operators, including the use of group synergies in the leisure industry.
Casual Caller/ Tramp Agency Representation
Comprehensive Agency services are offered to all types of Casual Callers at Sri Lankan Ports and also off-Port limits in Galle and Colombo. This includes crew changes, transfer of spare parts, emergency repairs, supply of provisions, bunkers, freshwater and any other requirements that may arise. Aitken Spence also handles vessels discharging and loading Break Bulk and Bulk Cargo in all ports in Sri Lanka.
NVOCC Services & International Freight Forwarding
Aitken Spence handles NVOCC and International Freight Forwarding Agency representation under separate subsidiary companies, to fulfil the requirements of different principals and function as independent units. Our team of professionals in this sphere of activity is capable of handling sea and air freight forwarding and related NVOCC operations. We also handle consolidation of cargo as well as multi-country consolidations. Another Maritime Service that Aitken Spence provides is efficient container terminal management, training of container terminal staff and productivity improvement for container terminals world wide. Our team of well experienced professionals have carried out training and operational programmes to improve productivity in container terminals overseas. Aitken Spence is also involved in developing new terminals in collaboration with multiport operators.
