| Aitken Spence-Managed Desert Nights Camp among the Top Ten Desert Retreats of the World

Aitken Spence-managed Desert Nights Camp in Oman was recently named one of the top ten desert retreats of the world by The National in an independent study conducted by the UAE-based regional publication. Located two hours away from the City of Muscat on the dazzling sands of Al Wasil in the Sharqiya region, the Desert Nights Camp is Oman’s first and only luxury desert retreat.
“We are delighted that Dessert Nights Camp has been featured as one of the top ten desert retreats of the world. We plan on enhancing the facilities at Desert Nights Camp with the addition of a swimming pool and spa later on this year. ” said Mr D Prithiviraj, Chief Executive Officer of Aitken Spence Hotels in Oman.
It boasts of 30 luxurious Bedouin styled tents that are the true definition of luxury. Each tent is equipped with a bedroom and a sitting room, individually controlled air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom with amenities, tea & coffee maker and a mini bar. All tents have a cozy sit-out which offers a panoramic view of the golden Wahiba sands.
Desert Nights Camp offers guests at the camp sunset dune bashing trips, quad biking, trekking by camel and excursions to the oasis at Wadi beni Khalid. The camp offers an array of magnificent culinary creations that dazzle and reawakens ones taste buds. Guests can choose to dine in air-conditioned comfort or under starry skies as the gentle desert breeze whets your appetite. Aitken Spence, which was the first Sri Lankan hotel company to enter the Maldives (1993) and India (2007), broke new ground once again when it entered the Middle East last year. Al Falaj and Ruwi Hotel in Muscat, Al Wadi in Sohar and Sur Plaza in Sur were the first hotels in the Middle East to be managed by Aitken Spence.
